Farshchian’s “Standard-Bearer of Truth” to go on display in Tehran
TEHRAN -- The latest artwork by master Persian painter Mahmud Farshchian will be unveiled during a ceremony at the Farshchian Museum of the Sadabad Cultural Historical Complex on Sunday.Entitled “Standard-Bearer of Truth”, the painting features Hazrat Abbas (AS), also known as Qamar-e Bani Hashem and Hazrat Abolfazl, who was the brother of Imam Hussein (AS).
Hazrat Abbas (AS) was martyred on Tasu’a, the ninth day of the lunar month of Muharram, one day before the day upon which Imam Hussein (AS) was martyred.
Austrian ambassador visits Ashura ritual performances in Tehran
TEHRAN -- Austrian Ambassador Thomas Buchsbam and his wife paid a visit to the Ashura rituals performances that are currently underway at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall on Friday.
Over 100 different types of ritual performances collected by experts and researchers from every corner of the country are being presented under the titles of the ceremonies of Kheimeha (tents) and Najvaha (murmurs).

Iran, Iraq sign cinematic MOU
TEHRAN -- Iran and Iraq signed a cinematic agreement during Iraq’s Jewar Film Festival that was held from November 27 to December 8.
Deputy Culture Minister for Cinematic Affairs Javad Shamaqdari and Farabi Cinematic Foundation Director Ahmad Mir-Alaii attended the festival to boost cinematic ties between the two countries.
The Iranian movie “The Kingdom of Solomon” by director Shahriar Bahrani won the best film award at Iraq’s Jewar Film Festival..
