TEHRAN – We disagree with the nuclear cooperation of some signatories to the Non-Proliferation Treaty with the Zionist regime of Israel.
The Iranian Ambassador to the International Atomic Energy Agency Reza Najafi made the remarks while reading out a statement on behalf of 120 member states to the Non-Aligned Movement in New York on Wednesday. The statement urged those countries to stop nuclear cooperation with states that are not signatories to the NPT, specifically the Zionist regime of Israel.
The statement also pointed out that all countries have the inalienable right to use the nuclear energy.
It added that all the member states to the NPT have the right to enjoy the nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.
It called on the nuclear countries to avoid setting conditions in helping non-nuclear countries, or causing obstruction to their peaceful activities.
The statement highlighted the importance of the IAEA’s role in helping the countries use the nuclear technology peacefully.
The imposition of politically motivated restrictions on the NPT member states was also strongly criticized in the statement.
