TEHRAN - Iranian Foreign Ministry has said that any action against Iran’s relief ship to Yemen will be responded by Iran and all international bodies.
Sending relief ship to Yemen was coordinated with the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross, ministry spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham told a press conference on Wednesday. She went on to say that any behavior contrary to the coordination will be responded by Iran and all related international institutions.
She also said that the crisis in Yemen should be settled through a “political strategy”.
On a question that the U.S. is toughening its language in nuclear talks, Afkham said that Iran’s nuclear team will definitely resist against any “excessive demands”.
Commenting on the possibility of extending nuclear talks, she said that reaching a good deal is more important than time schedule.
If the process of drafting a final deal and reaching an agreement requires prolongation of the talks, Iran will be ready, she stated.
Iran and the 5+1 group (the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany) have set July 1 as deadline to reach a final agreement.
-----Iran has established ‘strategic’ cooperation with Iraq -------
Afkham also said Iran and Iraq have established “strategic” cooperation in various spheres, adding Iran is ready to provide the Iraqi people and government with help.
She went on to say that Iran attaches great importance to national unity in Iraq.
Iranian Defense Minister, who was on a tour of Iraq, in a meeting with his Iraqi counterpart Khalid al-Obeidi on Tuesday vowed to counter the threat of terrorists.
ISIL militants, whose brutalities have shocked the world, are controlling swathes of land in Iraq and Syria. Over the past months, the Iraqi army, backed by volunteer fighters, has managed to liberate several areas in the country from militants.
