Director of Moscow book fair to visit Tehran

TEHRAN – Director of the 28th Moscow International Book Fair will visit Tehran to hold talks about Iran’s participation in the fair as the special guest.
“The director of the Moscow fair was due to visit Tehran earlier in May during the Tehran International Book Fair, however the director was changed and the visit was postponed,” deputy director of Tehran fair Amir-Masud Shahramnia told Persian media.Later, the director of the Saint-Petersburg International Book Salon was appointed as the new director of the Moscow fair, he added.
The Moscow fair will be running from September 2 to 6, 2015. The new director’s name was not disclosed in the report.
Shahramnia said that the director is due to travel to Iran on July 5, but if possible, the trip may take place next week.
There are plans to construct a pavilion for the Moscow fair similar to Iran’s pavilion in Frankfurt, and also to design a good location for meetings and special programs, he said.
Over 20 Iranian publishers so far have registered to attend the fair, several of which are active in the publication of books in the Russian language, he stated.
