TEHRAN -- Iranian photographer Kamran Adle plans to showcase a collection of his photos of Paris in an exhibition that is expected to be held in the attractive city next year.

“I have taken about 15,000 photos of Paris,” Adle told the Persian service of ISNA on Tuesday.

He left Tehran to Paris to take more photos of the city for the exhibition, which is scheduled to display a selection 300 of his works.

No exact date has yet been set for the exhibition, which will be organized by the Paris Municipality.

Adle has sent copies of his works to the Paris Municipality.

“I have been in contact with them since March and they informed me last year that I could hold my exhibition in three years,” he said.

Adle said that he planned to put the photos on display at an exhibition in Tehran. However the plan was cancelled following the Tehran Municipality’s refusal to collaborate with him.

He is the photographer of the august series “Once upon a Time”, which features Iranian folklore in various regions, including Baluchestan, Fars, Zanjan, Khorasan and Kordestan.

He presented the collection in an exhibition at Tehran’s Shirin Gallery in 2009.

“Many of these photos make one feel nostalgic about the olden days in an Iran that no longer exists,” he once said in an interview.
