TEHRAN – Mohammad Javad Zarif, the Iranian foreign minister, said on Wednesday that it is the time to adopt a “new and comprehensive” approach in line with nuclear disarmament through holding talks on a “comprehensive nuclear convention”.

“It is regrettable that the nuclear countries are modernizing nuclear arsenal instead of living up to international commitments to eradicate nuclear and mass destruction weapons,” Zarif said during his speech at the UN General Assembly on eradicating nuclear weapons.

Zarif said any use of nuclear weapons is “crime against humanity”.
