Iranian defender Seyed Jalal Hosseini’s dream came true when he captained Iran national team for the first in the friendly match against Japan.

“It is every player’s dream to be the captain of the national team. My dream came true in the match against Japan; it was a day to remember for me. Being the national team captain is fantastic but on the other hand you have a lot of responsibilities on the pitch which put pressure on you,” Hosseini told Varzesh 3.
“The game against Japan was Asia’s clash of titans. We are the best team in the Asian according to the FIFA ranking and Japan who everyone knows is a big team. Both two teams came to win; we had a good start to the match and produced a couple of chances then we scored but in the second half they leveled the score taking advantage of our mistake,” Hosseini added.
Hosseini who is a Team Melli member since 2007 has represented Iran at the 2007 AFC Asian Cup, 2011 AFC Asian Cup, 2015 AFC Asian Cup and the 2014 FIFA World Cup. He has scored 7 goals in 99 appearances for Iran.
