521 firms to attend Iran’s Intl. Electricity Exhibit

TEHRAN – The 15th International Electricity Exhibition of Iran will be held from November 8 to 11 at the Tehran Permanent International Fairgrounds.
The four-day exhibition will focus exclusively on the electrical industry and features products from 321 Iranian and 200 international companies, according to the Shana News Agency.The event will be an opportunity for active companies in the field of electricity from 24 countries to showcase the cutting-edge of the electricity industry.
Companies from South Korea, China, Germany, Turkey, Italy, Ukraine, Austria, Britain, France, Finland, the Netherlands, India, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Japan, Swiss, Hong Kong, Spain, USA, Slovenia, the United Arab Emirates, Taiwan, Canada, and Belgium will participate in the international event.
Iran currently exports electricity to Turkey, Armenia, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan (including the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic), Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iraq.
Iran has the potentiality to generate 40,000 megawatts (MW) of electricity from solar and wind resources, according to Iranian Deputy Energy Minister Houshang Falahatian.
Falahatian put the current total electricity generation capacity of solar and wind power plants at 250 MW in the country.
Iran has prepared a plan which could increase the efficiency of its power plants to 45 percent from the current 38 percent by 2025.
