TEHRAN - The Lian ensemble from the southern Iranian city of Bushehr is scheduled to give a concert at the Milad Hall of the Tehran International Permanent Fairgrounds on January 19.

The band led by neyanban virtuoso Mohsen Sharifian will perform a repertoire of folk music from their native region.

Earlier in August, Lian won an award at the 1st Nagara International Percussion Festival in Sheki, Azerbaijan.

Bushehri music is a subdivision of Bandari music, which is performed in Iran’s southern coastal cities.
