TEHRAN – The Guardian Council has refused to accept the resignation of its spokesman Nejatollah Ebrahimian, the council’s public relations officer announced on Saturday.

“The Guardian Council has not agreed with the resignation of spokesman,” Mohammad Mehdi Shirmohammadi told IRNA.
“We hope that Dr. Ebrahimian to stay in his post as spokesman to handle the great duty of dealing with media,” Shirmohammadi added.

Earlier on Saturday it was announced that Ebrahimian had submitted his resignation as spokesman to the council’s chief Ahmad Jannati.
