TEHRAN — Rasoul Nouri, a 38-year-old municipal worker returned lots of money, jewelries, and valuable documents he had found to their rightful owners, Persian-language daily newspaper Iran reported.

Nouri who lives in Savojbolagh County, Alborz Province, said that two years ago when he was trimming and mowing the lawn in the park he saw a purse which contained about two kilograms of gold and jewels and more than 300 million rials (nearly $8,500) and a cellphone.

“The only thing I could think about was the fact that the owner must have been very worried so through calling the numbers in the cellphone we found the owner,” he said.

“With teary eyes they asked me to accept some money as a reward and take as much as I wanted but I refused to do so, however, the woman (owner) gave me 20 million rials (around $580) which I divided between two families with sick children,” he added.

A little while ago he found a bag for second time inside a bus while travelling to the holy city of Qom. The bag contained a considerable amount of dollars and some documents.

“When I found the bag I started searching for the owner with my wife and it took a month to find him using some of the documents in the bag and a picture of him,” Nouri explained.

Once I found him in Tehran he gave me a hug out of extreme happiness and asked me to take as much money as I want but I didn’t accept because what I did was only for the sake of God.
