Iran, Germany to expand librarianship relations

TEHRAN - National Library and Archives of Iran (NLAI) Director Seyyed Reza Salehi-Amiri and the director of Germany’s Bavarian State Library, Klaus Ceynowa, met in Tehran to discuss expansion of relations, the NLAI announced in a press release on Friday.  

Advanced methods of digitizing historical documents and preservation of rare manuscripts were also among topics discussed at the meeting. 

Salehi-Amiri and Ceynowa also signed a memorandum of understanding, which outlines procedures for exchanging experts and organizing meetings and technical workshops.    

With collections currently comprising around ten million books, the Bavarian State Library in Munich ranks among the best research libraries worldwide.
