Iran held by Qatar in World Cup qualifier

DOHA -- Iran drew with Qatar in Group E of the 2014 World Cup qualifier on Tuesday. The Iranian team was held to a 1-1 draw by Qatar at Doha’s Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium.
Iran defender Hadi Aghili gave the visiting team a lead just one minute into the second half with a header.
Carlos Queiroz’s team missed so many chances afterward. In the 56th minute, Mohammed El Sayed put the ball in the back of the net to salvage a point for Qatar.
Iran, who opened the campaign with a 3- 0 victory over Indonesia, remains top of Group E on goal difference.
Bahrain has also four points after they beat Indonesia 2-0 in Jakarta. Qatar lies third with two points, while Indonesia is at the bottom of the group without point.
