Suwon Bluewings of South Korea was held to a 1-1 draw by Iranian Zob Ahan in the first leg of the Asian Champions League quarterfinals on Wednesday. In the match held at Suwon World Cup Stadium, Mohammad Ghazi gave the visiting team a lead after 56 minutes but Park Hyun-beom equalized the match 10 minutes later for Suwon.
The Korean team created some good chances in the match but its strikers failed to take advantage of them.
The result gave the Iranian club — last year's runner-up in this competition — an advantage as it will host the second leg.
The eventual winner will play either Iran’s Sepahan or Al-Sadd of Qatar in the semifinal, and the competition winners is to secure a birth in the Club World Cup.
The second leg will be played in Isfahan’s Fooladshahr Stadium on September 28.
