Tehran-Karaj Express Electric Train to Be Launched Today

TEHRAN The express electric train connecting Tehran to Karaj will be inaugurated by President Khatami today. The railway, 31.4 kilometers long, has one track and three stops at Azadi Square, Vardavard and Malard. Some 11 more stops are to be made available in the future. The train is to run as of today from 11 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for three hours, which will rise to 10 hours a day in April-May, 13 hours in May-June, 14 hours in June-July, 16 hours in July-August, and 18 hours in August-September. Single tickets are to be sold at 1,500 rials, available at the railway stations.
