100 Iranian companies working in Kurdistan Region

The Iranian consul in Kurdistan Region, Abdul-Azim Hosseini, in an interview with The Kurdish Globe, said Iran will further develop its economic ties with Kurdistan Region.He also addressed the current heated debate, saying if the American troops do not pull out of Iraq, the insurgency activities will increase against them.? Hosseini considers the U.S. as a threat to Iranian security.
Hosseini said, Iraq and Iran enjoy positive relationships. The U.S. and its allies do not want those positive ties to last.
He added that the U.S. withdrawal will help in improving the economic ties between KRG and Iran.
“ We have come to an agreement with President Barzani to further develop the commercial ties between Kurdistan and Iran. For the time being, around 100 Iranian companies are working in the Region, including oil companies. The U.S. withdrawal from Iraq will help to develop the economic coordination between the two sides, even in the oil sector”, he further said.
Hosseini pointed out that The trade exchange volume between Kurdistan Region and Iran was $6 billion last year, $4 billion of total volume is in the Region. The same amount has been recorded for this year, maybe it will increase further.
