The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) is looking to send a business delegation to Iran to establish market access for locally made exports, a statement released on Wednesday showed.
PCCI President Miguel B. Varela, in a meeting with Iranian Ambassador Aliasghar Mohammadi, reportedly stated plans of sending a business delegation to the Middle Eastern economy for high-level talks with the Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, and Mines (ICCIM).

The delegation intends to discuss securing direct export licenses for Filipino businesses, lessening export costs to Iran by at least 10%, and seeking a bigger external market for Mindanao farmers, the statement said.

Sectors which the local chamber will be eyeing during the meetings are agriculture, aquaculture, pharmaceuticals, mining, construction, automotive parts, and manpower.

Trade dispute settlement and payment arrangements will also be brought up during the said bilateral discussions.
