Intelligence minister says borders with Turkey closely guarded

TEHRAN – The Iranian intelligence minister said on Saturday that all land and air borders with Turkey are closely guarded following the mid-night coup in the neighboring country.
“Security, military, and intelligence forces are on guard as demanded by the situation and all borderlines (with Turkey) are under full control.”
With Erdogan holidaying, violence erupted late on Friday after a faction of the armed forces attempted to seize power using tanks and attack helicopters.
The coup, however, failed after people took to the streets. Reportedly, 90 are dead.
