Iran's passenger car production jumps 41.2%
TEHRAN- Iran manufactured 1.012 million passenger cars during the first ten months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2016- January 19, 2017), showing 41.2 percent increase compared to the same period last year, IRIB news reported.
The number of automobiles manufactured in Iran during the first nine months of the current Iranian calendar year (ending December 20) registered a 39.1 percent increase compared to the same period last year, Tasnim news agency reported.
Iran is scheduled to manufacture 1.35 million of cars by the end of the current calendar year (March 20, 2017), Deputy Minister of Industry, Mining and Trade Mohsen Salehinia announced in last April.
As Salehinia underlined, the government seeks to improve the quality as well as the quantity of the domestically produced cars on the way to boost their exports.
