Telegram admins get up to 5 years in jail

TEHRAN – The spokesman for the Iranian Judiciary announced on Sunday that some administrators of Telegram messaging app channels who had been arrested on security charges have been given from 91 days to five years in jail.

Fourteen of these administrators have been tried, Qolamhossein Mohseni Ejei said, adding “two or three cases” have been filed in this regard, ILNA reported.

“In another case, eight people have stood trial, but their verdicts have not been issued yet,” Ejei explained.
