TEHRAN – Intelligence Minister Mahmoud Alavi said on Monday that Iran has arrested a number of terrorists who planned to carry out terror attacks during the mourning days of Muharram (September 22 to October 1).

A number of terrorists, who attempted to carry out plots and threaten the country’s security, were identified and arrested by the ministry, Alavi said, ICANA reported.

He added that the terrorists were arrested in different provinces and were not working as a team.
