Archbishop: Followers of divine religions enjoy freedom under Iranian constitution

December 27, 2017

TEHRAN – Sepuh Sargsyan, the archbishop of the Armenian Diocese of Tehran, said on Tuesday that the followers of divine religions enjoy freedoms enshrined in the country’s constitution.

During a ceremony in Tehran to celebrate Christmas, Sargsyan said Iran is the country of religions and is the cradle of dialogue and peaceful coexistence, IRNA reported.

“Unfortunately the world denies such apparent fact,” he said.

He also said the world in this era needs peace, comfort and friendship more than any other time.
