TEHRAN – Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyyed Abbas Salehi has said that he has seen a major breakthrough in Iranian visual arts.

He made the remarks on Sunday after paying a visit to the 10th Fajr International Festival of Visual Arts underway at the Saba Art and Cultural Institute of the Iranian Academy of Arts.

“I saw that there has been significant progress in the interdisciplinary arts via the Fajr International Festival of Visual Arts,” Salehi said.

“It seems the interdisciplinary arts are moving forward step by step leading to the creation of new arts, and the progress is quite clear in this exhibit,” he added.

New ideas are also seen among the displayed artworks, he stated.
