TEHRAN – “Weavers of Imagination” and “Crimson Trauma”, both from Iranian filmmakers, have been selected to go on screen at the Beirut International Women’s Film Festival running from March 13 to 18, the organizers have announced.

“Weavers of Imagination” directed by Sadeq Jafari is a documentary about a number of visually impaired men and women in Iran who weave intricately patterned carpets by using Braille.

“Crimson Trauma” by Esmaeil Mihandoost is a romance scene in the context of a city trip in Tehran, where the main character of the film is trying to maintain a balance between the four personality dimensions of a woman.

Beirut festival under the theme “Women’s Empowerment” tackles issues such as gender equality, identity and domestic violence among others through the power of the lens and cinema.
