Iran’s new envoys to the Vatican, Slovenia appointed

TEHRAN – Taha Hashemi and Kazem Shafei have been appointed as Iran’s ambassadors to the Vatican and Slovenia respectively, Fars reported.

They were proposed by Foreign Minister Zarif and approved by President Rouhani.

Hashemi, a former parliamentarian, replaced Mohammad-Taher Rabbani, and Shafei, former director of the border office at the Foreign Ministry Legal and International Department, replaced Morteza Darzi Ramandi.
