TEHRAN -- Iranian director Mir Abbas Khosravinejad’s short film “Foruzan” will be competing in the Corto e Fieno, a film festival dedicated to rural cinema taking place in Lake Orta, Italy from September 21 to 23, the organizers have announced.

“Foruzan” tells the story of a widow with two children living in a village in central Iran. She tries to protect her herd from robbery in the night.

The film will be competing in the “Sezione Frutteto” (Orchard) section.

“Foruzan” won the award for best short film at the Fresco International Festival of Modern Art and Spiritual Films in Armenia early July.

It was also picked as best drama at the Astoria NY Film Festival in June.
