Keyhan Kalhor to perform “Silent City” in Tehran

February 23, 2019

TEHRAN – Acclaimed Iranian kamancheh virtuoso Keyhan Kalhor plans to go on stage in Tehran to perform tracks from his album “Silent City”.

The concerts will be held at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall during April, he said in press release on Saturday.

A number of Iranian musicians, including violinists Pedram Faryusefi and Nilufar Mohebi, viola player Meisam Marvasti and cellist Atena Eshtiaqi, will accompany him during the performances.

“Silent City” is a 30-minute track from an album of the same name recorded by Kalhor and the New York-based string quartet Brooklyn Rider at World Village Records in 2008.

“Silent City” was composed in memory of the victims of Iraq’s 1988 chemical attack on Halabja.
