ISFAHAN Mobarakeh Steel Complex will give a discount of 80-200 rials per kilogram for its products as of August 12, 2000, said an official yesterday. The decision was made by Iran's Steel Council as well as the headquarters for controlling metals market, said the director general of the complex, Eslamian. The discount announced for each kilogram of hot rolling sheets with 2mm thickness will stand at 150 rials, and those with 6mm thickness at 120 rials.
Also, for each kilogram of cold rolling sheets, with 7mm thickness and with 2mm thickness, a discount of 150 and 120 rials respectively.
The reason behind such a decision was an attempt to reduce expenditure and improve production, he added.
Elaborating on the activities of the complex, Eslamian said the complex has increased its production of slabs, various steel sheets and cold rolling sheets. Touching on steel sheet imports, he said the complex's products would compete in international markets if the quality and quantity improve.
Projects of tin plating, packing, production of galvanized and color sheets are among future plans.
