TEHRAN Companies participating in the 26th Tehran International Trade Fair are seeking to invest in Iran and other countries so as to develop their activities.
They are not just looking for customers to sell their goods, a Turkish businessman, Farshid Baqerian, said yesterday.
Talking to the TEHRAN TIMES on the sidelines of the trade fair, Baqerian added that the fair has provided a good opportunity for both Iranian and foreign companies to cooperate with each other.
Turkey has participated in this year's fair with five more companies compared with last year, he further said.
Also speaking to the TEHRAN TIMES was a Korean businessman, Shin-Hak Kang, who described the fair as a suitable venue for businessmen from across the world to exchange their new commercial and technical achievements.
A Tunisian participant in the fair, Habib Hammami, told the TEHRAN TIMES that there was no obstacle to his participation in the fair. He also praised the quality of goods produced by Iranian companies.
Despite the economic sanctions imposed by the U.S. on Iran, many companies from Europe and Asia have taken part in the Tehran trade fair.
Holding such trade fairs can help promote trade activities and strengthen commercial and economic relations between Iran and other countries in the world, some Iranian businessmen participating in the fair told the daily.
They stressed that the officials should provide better facilities for domestic and foreign companies taking part in such trade fairs.
