TEHRAN President Mohammad Khatami, in a message sent to his Yugoslav counterpart Vojislav Kostunica, congratulated the latter on his recent election to the presidency, the Information and Press Department of the President's Office announced here on Friday.
In his message, the president expressed the hope that the Yugoslav nation under the new leadership would enjoy further prosperity, stability and security.
The president also expressed his wish that traditional bilateral ties between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia that are based on mutual respect would further extend to all fields and serve the interests of the two nations.
