Yugoslavia Interested in Expansion of Ties With Iran

BELGRADE Yugoslavian President Vojislav Kostunica said here Monday that his country is interested in expansion of political, economic and cultural ties with Iran.
In a meeting with Iran's Charge d'Affairs in Belgrade Javad Moradkhan, he referred to the important role Iran and Yugoslavia play in the security of the Persian Gulf region and Balkan, respectively.
He added that following new developments in Yugoslavia, bilateral ties could be further strengthened.
Kostunica conveyed his warm greetings to President Mohammad Khatami.
The Iranian envoy also said that Iran supports the new democratic changes in Yugoslavia and stressed expansion of ties in all areas.
