Iran, China to Cooperate in Mining Sector

TEHRAN A Chinese firm is to cooperate with Iran in the exploration and exploitation of minerals, announced an adviser to the Geology and Mineral Exploration Organization here Tuesday.
Ahmad Nabaiyan told IRNA that experts of the firm are cooperating with their Iranian counterparts in the exploration and exploitation of gold in Neishabour, northeast Iran.
He said that transfer of technology and establishment of a sample laboratory for the production of gold through leaching are among axis of cooperation with the Chinese firm.
Underlining the existing potentials, Nabaiyan said that after conducting the required technical and economic studies the Chinese firm will announce its decision to enter into a joint venture with Iran for the establishment and operation of a unit for the production of gold bullion.
The Chinese firm is operating in a 1700-meter long zone with an average reserve of 3 grams of gold per ton, in Neishabour.
