India, Kazakhstan for Afghan Settlement

ISLAMABAD -- India and Kazakhstan have made a joint call on the international community for stepping up efforts to resolve the Afghan problem. The news agency NNI said on Monday that the statement was made after meetings of Kazakh Parliament's speaker Zharmakhan Tuyakbai with the Indian leadership. He is on an official visit in India. Participants in the talks reaffirmed readiness to assist a stop to the Afghan conflict which threatens stability on Afghanistan's borders with Central and South Asian states.
He said Kazakhstan is firmly committed to fighting terrorism, drug and arms trafficking.
