Iran-Ukraine Economic Cooperation Fields Studied

TEHRAN -- The Iranian Minister of Industries, Gholamreza Shafe'i and the visiting Ukrainian deputy foreign minister in a meeting on Saturday studied the possible fields of economic cooperation.

According to the Ministry of Industries, Vladimir Polchenco referred to the good record of the Tehran-Kiev political and economic ties during the past few years and hoped that the commercial transactions between the two nations will boost in near future.

Shafe'i, too, referred to the various potential fields of cooperation between Tehran and Kiev, expressing hope that the contract on manufacturing passenger aircraft, signed in 1980 with Ukraine will duly proceed according to the schedule.

The two sides also surveyed the possible ways of expanding air industries cooperation and agreed on the date of the next meeting between the Tehran-Kiev authorities in Ukraine during March 2001. (IRNA)
