Kostner Wins World Cup Super-G

LENZERHEIDE, Switzerland Italy's Isolde Kostner claimed her first World Cup Super-G win of the season on Sunday as Austria's Renate Goetschl kept the battle for the overall title alive by coming second.
Kostner, Super-G world champion in 1996 and 1997 and a silver medalist two weeks ago in St. Anton, stormed down the 2,350-meter Scalottas course in a time of one minute 36.61 seconds to record her third victory of the season and 12th of her career. Her other two wins came in downhills.
Goetschl, locked in a battle for the Super-G overall title with world champion Regine Cavagnoud of France, remained in the chase with only one race remaining by taking second in 1:36.69.
France's Carole Montillet, who collected her first career win at a Super-G in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, returned to the podium taking third in 1:36.74.
