TEHRAN The Iranian national junior volleyball team snatched the most coveted title of 3rd Asian Junior Volleyball Championships.

Ten Asian teams took part in the event which was held in the Mellat gym, Isfahan.

A 3-1 win over South Korea on Thursday brought the trophy to Iranian side which remained unbeaten during the competitions.

South Korea and Taiwan respectively stood second and third, followed by North Korea, China, Japan, India and Qatar.

Representing the Asian Continent, the first three teams will compete in the international volleyball contests in Egypt.

The tournament started in Isfahan on Thursday, March 1, 2001.
