TEHRAN The Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics issued a statement commemorating the occasion of "Army Day" (April 18).

The ministry's statement congratulated Commander of the Armed Forces Ayatollah Khamenei and all the personnel and staff of the three armed forces.

The statement, referring to the sensitive role played by the revolutionary army in the course of the victory of the Islamic Revolution, commemorated the sacrifices and bravery displayed by the army during the 1980-1988 Iraqi-imposed war.

The statement said that Iran's Army is recognized as one of the strongest and most experienced armies in the world because of the precious experiences of the sacred defense war under the leadership of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.

The statement invited people to participate in the armed forces parade.

The Public Relations Office of the Armed Forces announced on Monday that the armed forces parade will be held in front of the shrine of Imam Khomeini (RA) this year.
