Promotion of Tehran-Damascus Ties Discussed

TEHRAN The Iranian Minister of Education Hossein Mozaffar met the Syrian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa Miru in Damascus Sunday night. In the meeting the two sides discussed the expansion of Tehran-Damascus cooperation in the areas of economy, education, culture and social affairs.

The ministers also reviewed the latest developments in the Palestinians' occupied lands and recent aggressions against the Palestinians by the Zionist regime.

The Iranian and Syrian officials put emphasis on the necessity for support of Palestinian's Intifada by Muslim states, establishment of an independent Palestinian state and the return of all homeless Palestinians to their homeland.

Earlier on Sunday, Muzaffar met with his Syrian counterpart Mahmud al-Sayyid. In the meeting the two sides discussed ways of implementing the agreements the two countries have already reached.

Muzaffar arrived in Damascus on Saturday night for a two-day visit and was to leave the Syrian capital city for Tehran last night.
