Isfahan Youths Beat Bahrain in Naqsh-e Jahan Tourney

ISFAHAN The youth's soccer squad of Isfahan managed to defeat the young footballers of Bahrain on the second day of Naqsh-e Jahan Cup here on July 29.

In the match that was judged by referee Rahimi Moqaddam, the Isfahanis won 3-0.

The young players of Isfahan possessed both the ball and field from the very beginning of the derby.

In the 18th minute, Ali Tahmasebi put his side ahead. The condition was aggravated for the Bahrainis when Hussein Salman due to his harsh foul was red-carded and sent off in the 23rd minute.

Meissam Khosravi made it 2-0 in the 34th minute.

Two minutes into the second half, the Isfahanis added another goal by Tahmasebi to defeat the Bahraini side 3-0.

Isfahan is now at the top of table of Group 2 and will cruise into final if the Saudi Arabia-Isfahan match ends in a tie on Tuesday.

The Technical Committee of the tournament selected Tahmasebi as Player of the Match.

Earlier on Sunday, the teams of Esteghlal of Tehran and Oman played on the pitch of Foulad-Shahr Stadium, Isfahan, during which the two squads scored three times each and shared the points.

Mojtaba Jabbari, Khosro Heidari, and Andisheh Makuei scored the three goals of Esteghlal youths' side in the 37th, 56th, and 90th minutes respectively, IRNA reported.

Referee Iraj Nazari judged the match in the presence of five thousand fans.

Khosro Heidari of Esteghlal was picked as Player of the Match.
