Iran Exports Over 1,400 Tons of Threads

TEHRAN Different customs offices in the country exported abroad over 1,400 tons of various kinds of threads, valued at dlrs 3.3 million, during the first half of the current Iranian year (started March 21), a report issued by the Export Promotion Center of Iran (EPCI) said here on Sunday.
The figure indicates decreases of 24 percent and 35 percent in terms of weight and value, respectively, compared to the corresponding period the previous year (started March 20, 2000), it added.
It said the country produces each year 245,000 tons of different thread, adding that over 1.2 percent of the figure is exported to various foreign countries.
According to the report, the countries importing Iranian thread in the said period were Italy, Turkey as well as some of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
