Iran Distributes Relief Aid to Quake-Stricken Tajiks
According to reports released yesterday, representatives of the Iranian Embassy in Tajikistan, Imam Khomeini's Relief Committee (IKRC), and Tajikistan's National Emergency Management Agency, were involved in the distribution of humanitarian aid.
Tabarak Sobhani, the director of IKRC's office in Tajikistan, said that Iran's contributions included rice, oil, sugar, heating equipment, and other necessities.
An official from the Tajik National Emergency Management Agency expressed appreciation for the support Iran has provided to victims of the recent earthquake and said that the Islamic Republic of Iran have always helped the Tajik nation in difficult situations.
Wednesday's earthquake in Tajikistan's Raghoun region, east of the capital Dushanbe, left over 60 people injured and destroyed 113 homes and schools.
