TEHRAN According to IRNA, 185,000,000 chickens have been produced in 27,688 poultry farms this year (started March 21, 2001), according to the Public Relations Department of Iran's Statistics Center (ISC) on Monday.

The ISC report put the number of the poultry farms throughout Iran last year at 15,383. It said 3,579 of the total were inactive.
