Italy to Help Iran Modernize Transportation Networks

TEHRAN -- Italian Ambassador to Tehran Riccardo Sessa said here on Monday that his country is ready to enhance its role in modernizing of Iran's subway, railway, sea and air transportation networks.
Public Relations Department at the Roads and Transportation Ministry quoted Sessa as saying that the Italian government can speed up modernization of Iran's transportation fleet.
Roads and Transportation Minister Ahmad Khorram for his part called for expansion of bilateral cooperation per ratification of the 14th Tehran-Rome Joint Economic Cooperation Commission, IRNA reported.
Khorram said his ministry gives the priority to establishment of infrastructures and mobilization of the national transportation fleet. He said the ministry welcomes Italy's contribution to implementation of transportation related projects.
