TEHRAN -- On the last day of the seventh session of the third term of the Experts Assembly on Wednesday, the chairman of the World Association for the Proximity of Islamic Religious Schools, Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri, said that the victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran was the climax of the activities of political Islam, which changed all the plans of the United States and the West.

He also referred to the collapse of the former Soviet Union, the emergence of newly independent countries, including some Muslim countries, in the region, and the emergence of political Islam as the main causes for the adoption of the new U.S. security policies, and added that the defeat of the Soviet Union in Afghanistan and the Palestinian Intifada, which both followed the Islamic Revolution in Iran, also led to the development of political Islam.

He also said that the United States was taking measures to fight against Islamic countries such as promoting a false image of Islam with the U.S.-created Taleban militia in Afghanistan, trying to isolate Iran, disrespecting the Islamic Ummah, putting pressure on Islamic financial institutions, trying to control seminaries and make them dependent, and weakening international Islamic organizations such as the Organization of the Islamic Conference.

Meanwhile, the representative of Golestan Province in the Experts Assembly, Ayatollah Nour Mofidi, said at the gathering that economic corruption is caused by the sick economy and added that in order to treat these economic diseases, the government should undertake special measures, including trying to attract investment.

Also, the representative of Fars Province in the Experts Assembly, Seyed Ali Asghar Dastgheib, said that the Leader is the main part of the government and that weakening the leadership is the same as weakening the whole system and government.
