Drinking Mineral Water Reduces Risk of Heart Attack in Older Women

MADRID -- A Spanish study indicates that the consumption of fizzy mineral water could reduce the risk of heart attack in older women, the **** El Pais **** newspaper has reported.
Post-menopausal women who drink a liter of carbonated mineral water a day for at least two months have lower levels of the harmful LDL-cholesterol, according to the preliminary study.
The study was directed by researcher Pilar Vaquero. It was financed by the city of Madrid and by the Jimenez Diaz foundation. 06-39-05.L09
