Film Sector Ready to Broadcast Programs by Satellite: Pezeshk
He stressed that while his department is opposed to the total ban of satellite programs, it is also against the unrestricted access to satellite programs.
Pezeshk believes that a compromise can be reached that will allow public access to satellite programs with due regard to international demands, while at the same time prohibiting undesirable programs which violate the avowed objectives of the ministry.
He pointed to a law passed in 1994 which gives the ministry the authority to record and broadcast satellite programs that are not against the values of the Islamic Republic of Iran along with the IRIB.
He underlined the fact that most families prefer to watch satellite programs that enhance family values and moral principles.
Offering his department's readiness to manage wholesome satellite programs, he said that to be able to broadcast these programs the ministry should have today's technology considering international requirements.
