TEHRAN- An Iranian author believes that veteran Iranian story writers should try to help young writers reach their peak.

Mohammad Keshavarz who is the author of a collection of stories, explained the source of the weak framework in contemporary story writing saying, "I am not speaking about the ways of highlighting and attracting attention toward prominent and great story writers, because we have some excellent literary figures who can compete with the European and American writers." Keshavarz, who is the story editor at *****Asr-e Panjshanbeh**** (Thursday Evening) magazine, believes that story writers can choose the time of his story and said:" Sometimes the events should pass through the filter of time in order to form the frame of a story, just like good war stories which do not have any slogans or subjectivity and have been written in the past three years. "The elements of modern daily life are depicted in some of the stories and most contemporary Iranian stories reflect the realities of society." According to Keshavarz, Iranian stories have not attained the status they deserve in the world because a result of the obsoleteness of the Persian language He stated,"Persian works are rarely translated into other world languages. On the other hand, cultural officials rarely provide the opportunity to introduce prominent Iranian stories to the other cultures. Still, some Iranian stories have made a mark in the world. This is proven by the fact that various associations and assemblies from all over the world have sent invitations to Iranian authors."
