Azerbaijan, Iran Seek to Solve Existing Problems at All Levels
He held talks with Azerbaijani President Haydar Aliyev on Thursday evening.
The minister said that both sides sought to solve the existing problems at all levels. As an example, he cited the strengthening of relations between Iranian and Azerbaijani security agencies.
He said that the principled position of Iran's leadership was to expand cooperation with neighboring countries, primarily with Azerbaijan.
Aliyev believes that both states should deepen friendly relations in order to confront their enemies. "The major thing is that we have never done anything negative to each other," he said, adding that Azerbaijan's policy was based on these principles.
After the talks the Iranian Minister stressed that the two sides signed an agreement on cooperation between special services. The agreement envisages developing cooperation in the fight against terrorism, drugs trafficking and organized crime.
Younesi noted that under the agreement, they would make attempts to eliminate factors, which infringed on bilateral relations.
They also agreed to appoint their special services' representatives in Baku and Tehran.
The Iranian minister arrived in Baku on a three-day visit on Wednesday.
