Iran's Academic's Proposal Adopted

BARCELONA -- On a proposal made by an Iranian Communications Professor Mahdi Mohsenian-Rad, the Islamic media section of the International Media Research Association changed its name to `Islam and the Media.' Mohsenian-Rad raised the proposal at the 23rd meeting of the association here on Thursday, which was welcomed by members of the section, IRNA reported.

He said in case of changing the title into "Islam and the Media" it would be possible to activate new areas of research.

The Islam and the Media section of the association had recently started work through backing of Iranian communications professor Hamid Mowlana under chairmanship of Abdullah Sediq, a Pakistani professor at U.S. universities.
