TEHRAN -- Managing Director of Iran Auto Spare Parts for designing, engineering and producing company Ali Taheri said here on Wednesday that production of spare parts in the country from 1995 through 2001 saved the country about $7 billion.
Taheri told IRNA on Wednesday that spare parts account for about 80 percent of value-added of cars.
He called for payment of subsidies for export of auto spare parts.
He predicted that the export of spare parts by his company this year would earn the country 14.5 million euros -- three times the figure for the preceding years.
